About Growbags- Mushroom grow bags can be used for sterilizing grain and propagating mushroom cultures or they can be used to create sawdust fruiting blocks for growing gourmet mushrooms.
Growbag Instructions-
- Cut 5''inch slit on the side of the block
- Place block in a room with indirect sunlight
- Mist with water 3-5 times daily until it begins to fruit
- After it begins to grow do not mist mushrooms directly
- To keep high humidity, mist the inside of the plastic bag and tent over block
- Tent the block 2-3 times daily for about an hour each time
- When mushrooms unfurl and edges flatten out they are ready to be picked
After harvesting mushrooms, the block should sit dormant for a couple weeks. Keep misting it daily and it should produce 2-4 flushes.
* As mushrooms begin to grow, the caps should be large and the stems small. If not, they are not getting enough fresh air. You can also poke some holes in the plastic bag "tent" for more oxygen.
